Today I want to share what's probably the biggest update we've made to Stacklist since we launched.

When we first rolled out to friends and family in August 2024, and then publicly in September, we got really positive feedback about the interface and experience. People loved how Stacklist looked and felt - but we knew we could make it even better.

So we've completely redesigned and reimagined the Stacklist experience. Let me walk you through what's new.

New Navigation & Layout

The first thing you'll notice is our new left-hand navigation bar. This gives you quick access to everything while making the interface infinitely more scalable. If you've got a large monitor, you can now see tons of your cards at once.

Don't need the sidebar? You can hide it with one click to get even more canvas space for your content.

Supercharged Search

We've put search front and center. Just click the search icon or use Command+K to instantly find what you need. You can search across all your content or narrow it down to specific cards or stacks.

For example, searching "New York" will show you all related stacks and cards, making it easy to pull up that "New York Planning" stack you created last month.

Better Card Management

The Cards section now has robust filtering options. You can:

  • Filter by content you created vs. content you've saved from other curators

  • Sort by most liked or alphabetically

  • Quickly search by tags (like "Florida" or "Restaurants")

Flexible Stack Views

We've created multiple ways to view your stacks:

  1. A compressed view showing just thumbnails and names (perfect for seeing many stacks at once)

  2. An expanded view that previews several cards in each stack

We've also added "ghost cards" that make it super simple to add new content - just copy and paste a link, and we'll create a new card automatically.

Lists (for Plus/Pro users)

Managing lists is now easier than ever. You can quickly see all the stacks in a list, add new stacks, or rearrange things as needed. This is especially helpful for projects like event planning (I'm using it for my South by Southwest preparations).

Activity & Discovery

The activity section shows when people follow you or like your stacks. This will become even more valuable as we roll out commenting and collaboration features soon.

Our discovery section remains the place to find new content. Browse by category or just explore the latest and greatest from the Stacklist community. When you find something interesting, just hit the plus button to save it to your account.

Quick Access

Your account information now lives in the bottom left, and the quick-add button for new cards and stacks is right there too. Everything is within reach, but never in your way.

What Do You Think?

We'd love to hear your thoughts on the new design. Is there anything you particularly like? Anything you think we should adjust?

Feel free to send us a message through the app, or if you want to chat directly, you can book some time with me through my profile at stacklist.app/kyle.

This redesign is just the beginning of some exciting updates we have planned for 2025. Thanks for being part of the Stacklist journey
